Verity Software Engineer - Mission in Zurich, Switzerland
Join our Mission team as Software Engineer and be part of designing and developing software for our cutting-edge industrial indoor drone system.
The Mission team's objective is developing and maintaining a solution for coordinating and operating a fleet of drones safely, reliably, and efficiently. To achieve this, Mission Software Engineers cover a diverse set of topics from the high level design of the system architecture to its implementation on cloud and embedded, real-time targets. Specific examples of components developed by the Mission team include computing and executing safe and efficient flight paths, avoiding obstacles, ensuring reliable communication between drones and cloud, and making sure the cloud components scale efficiently as the company pursues its ambitious growth plans.

What You Will Do
Design and implement software solutions for our indoor drone system and related technologies deployed on the drones and in the cloud.
Develop high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code that meets the highest software design standards.
Conduct code reviews and mentor your colleagues on topics related to design patterns, software development principles, and software testing.
Collaborate with control systems engineers on components related to sensor camera data handling, activity planning and drone fleet operation.
Debug and troubleshoot complex software issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend and implement solutions.
Integrate security practices into the development and deployment processes.
Design and develop CI/CD pipelines for provisioning cloud resources and deploying our applications.
What you bring
FH, BSc, MSc degree in computer science, software engineering, or other relevant field
3+ years of professional hands-on experience in designing and developing industrial-grade software
Proficiency in modern C++ and STL
Interest in expanding your knowledge in both the development and operation of software in a cloud environment
Committed to high coding standards and best practices
Excellent knowledge of software engineering principles
Experience with the following is a plus:
Writing safety-critical code
Implementing robotics control algorithms
Implementing cloud-based applications using AWS
CI/CD pipelines
Interfacing embedded software with cloud technologies, e.g. IoT applications
Python
JIRA and Confluence
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
