POSITION SUMMARY:

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an immediate opening for Box Office Manager at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. The Box Office Manager provides support to the Director of Booking and Box Office in the daily business operations of the Mohegan Sun Arena. Primary responsibilities are event ticketing management and staff supervision.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete daily accounting for ticketing such as tracking all ticketing revenue streams, reconcile Ticketmaster weekly settlement and submit daily deposit summary to Finance Department

  • Complete daily cash deposits and weekly vault reconciliations

  • Manage post-event reporting such as year-to-date, event financial summary & rebate reconciliations

  • Maintain and program automated daily sales reports to staff

  • Serve as manager on duty for department during event days.

  • Oversee the opening & closing of the box office while preparing workstations & cash drawers for staff

  • Assist in the hiring & training of staff on ticketing system & customer service including all related policies and procedures

  • Assist Business Development Manager with premium ticketing fulfillment, distribution & inventory management.

  • Order ticketing equipment, supplies and cash as needed

  • Assist in selling tickets when needed

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with venue tenants, show promoters, tour management, & building staff to facilitate all ticketing requirements

  • Function as liaison with ticketing provider (Ticketmaster/AXS) to maintain event programming, promotional offers & best practices

  • Assist in processing ticket requests from various entities

  • Help maintain organization and cleanliness within the physical box office space

  • Assist Director of Booking & Box Office with projects as assigned

  • Perform other related duties as required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises part-time Box Office ticket sellers & Box Office Supervisor

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM Global's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources Department; addressing complaints and resolving problems

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to manage cash, basic accounting, excellent organization and communication skills REQUIRED

  • Prior ticketing experience, with knowledge of Ticketmaster/AXS applications is preferred

  • Required to work nights, weekends, and occasional holidays as needed for events.

  • Provide excellent customer service by having a fan-friendly attitude

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited four-year college or university in hospitality, business or related field preferred but not requited

  • Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge in industry terminology and event-related services

  • Demonstrate the principles and techniques of supervision, training, budgeting and other administrative duties

  • Handle conflict, make common sense decisions and exercise proper action during high tension and stressful situations

  • Know basic accounting

  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Operate portable radio and standard office equipment including copier and fax machine

  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form

  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines with special attention to detail

  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule, and produce accurate results

  • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative

  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment

  • Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States

  • Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively

  • Computer Skills

  • Operate a personal computer using Windows, Microsoft Office software and knowledgeable in event ticketing software
