Summary

This position will ensure the timely and accurate testing of completed environmental control system assemblies. The ideal candidate will have a strong electro/mechanical background with the ability to perform troubleshooting and use various hand tools. The Test Tech must be able to read engineering drawings and Acceptancy Test Procedures to understand assembly use and proper function.

Essential Performance & Responsibilities

  • Reads and follows test procedures, operates test equipment, instruments and reports performance results.

  • Ensure compliance with documented procedures.

  • Read and interpret all engineering drawings and Engineering Process Specification (EPS) and Production Process Plan (PPP) documents.

  • Participate in root cause failure analysis and reporting.

  • Develop and implement troubleshooting procedures.

  • Take ownership of test stations, keeping each station operational, and performing preventive maintenance as necessary.

  • Implement Lean 6S practices, ensuring the test area is organized, labeled and runs smoothly and safe.

  • Work collaboratively with Engineering personnel to improve test procedures.

  • Act as Engineering outlet for troubleshooting and vetting new test harnesses, boxes, and plans.

  • Work with Hardware Engineers and Software Engineers to drive continuous improvement efforts to test equipment and software/code.

  • Bridges the gap between Engineering and Production.

  • Proficiency with all test equipment, including but not limited to, multimeter, ohm meter, test boxes, AC charge cart, load cart, and various power supplies.

  • Route to Quality or perform in-process inspection per the procedure.

  • Sign all test operations and clock out of the job to ensure proper tracking of production.

  • Perform foreign object detection (FOD) activities to minimize any potential risks.

  • Comply with all safety procedures to ensure proper protective equipment usage.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum 3 year of relevant experience in a manufacturing/production environment.

  • Demonstrated ability reading schematics, prints, drawings, etc for part assembly.

  • Experience doing performance testing for manufactured assemblies.

  • Strong proficiency using milliohm meter, ohm meter, voltmeter.

  • Must be safety conscious with the ability to safely turn on, run, and shut down electric and mechanical tests.

  • Able to problem-solve using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • A & P certification.

  • Experience with ISO or AS9100 processes and procedures.
