Job Description:
The Salon and Spa Programs Instructor would instruct students in specific licensed areas in the Personal Enhancement Industry. Programs that Erie 1 BOCES currently offers are Barbering, Cosmetology, Esthetics and Waxing.
The Spa and Salon Instructor applies their knowledge and incorporates those skills into teaching the students the theory and hands-on skills required to apply and pass the New York State Board exams in the specific licensed area.
Provide a satisfactory education in the personal enhancement trade for aspiring students
Teach students modern concepts and techniques in the specific trade area to ensure a positive passing rate in all NYS State Board Exams.
Lead and manage the students in direct learning activities in the classroom and practical lab supervision of all clinical activities
Maintain professionalism at all times
Job Qualifications
Must hold a current NYS License in Barber, Cosmetology and or Esthetics
A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a specific licensed area
Previous training/teaching experience preferred but not required
