Title: Software Architecture Leader (REMOTE AVAILABILITY) - 40745

This position offers the option of REMOTE TELEWORKING. Also, physical locations for this position include: Des Moines, IA; Moline, IL; Waterloo, IA or Cary, NC.

Your Responsibilities

As the Software Architecture Leader for a John Deere initiative, sponsored by the Enterprise Electronics Engineering Council (E3C), you will be responsible for leading the enterprise in defining software architecture design guidelines and best practices. In addition, you will:

  • Be responsible for leading the enterprise in creating consistent software architecture within the AUTOSAR tool chain

  • Deploy training material on software architecture to architecture teams across the enterprise

  • Coach architecture teams on software architecture across the enterprise

  • Lead the Software Architecture Community of Practice

What Skills You Need

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • 4 or more years of technical software team leadership experience

  • 4 or more years of software or data architecture experience

  • 1 or more years of demonstrated ability to serve business functions or processes with technology on a targeted scale

  • Strong skills and knowledge of software design and development

  • Understanding of engineering principles as they relate to products and service (has expert understanding of the principles, can apply the information to highly complex solutions, solve complex problems, conduct research/break new ground, develop solution strategies, and provide expert support to technical teams)

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%, both domestic and internationally.

  • Experience leading strategic initiatives

  • Advanced knowledge with model based software design (MBSD) using the Matlab/Simulink tool chain

  • Ability to work in a self-directed mode

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Product Development Process (EPDP) and related roles and responsibilities

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
