Summary

Pursuant to 50 USC § 3024 (v), and with concurrence and consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, this position is being established in the excepted service as an element of the intelligence community within the Department of the Treasury.

This position is located in the Department of the Treasury (Treasury), Departmental Offices, Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence (TFI), Assistant Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis (OIA), Office of Security Programs. The primary purpose of this position is to function as an industrial security subject matter expert, and assist the Chief, Physical Security with the administration of the DO Security Operations Program within the Departmental Offices (DO).

Responsibilities

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

  • Assists in developing policies, instructions, procedures, control systems, and methods regarding the classification, declassification, and protection of classified national defense information originated by contractors
  • Identifies security violations and weaknesses and conducts preliminary inquiries of actual or suspected compromise, reports findings, and provides recommendations to supervisor
  • Supports the Department of Treasury, Critical Infrastructure Program ensuring policy and plans are developed that focus on protecting or mitigating the effects to Department of Treasury infrastructure critical to mission accomplishment
  • Serve as the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR)

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience:For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

  • Experience conducting inspections, surveys and investigations of government or nongovernmental facilities and personnel in order to determine protection of sensitive materials/information and compliance with laws and regulations; AND
  • Experience serving as a technical contact for a wide variety of security management functions such as the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), Foreign Ownership Control or Influence (FOCI); AND
  • Experience conducting security surveys of assigned contractor facilities and pre-contract award surveys; AND
  • Experience reviewing contract documents, program security classification guides and Contract Security Classification Specifications.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
