GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Wyoming State Hospital is looking to fill the position of a Principal Licensed Counselor.

The candidate will provide counseling, assessment, and intensive case management services for adult psychiatric inpatients.

The city of Evanston is a small and friendly Rocky Mountain community that is a 45-minute drive from the world-famous ski slopes of Park City, Utah. There are concerts, shopping, dining, professional sporting events, and an international airport 60 minutes away in Salt Lake City. Evanston's area is excellent for recreational activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, biking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.

  • Develops curriculum and programming for patients. May provide leadership, monitoring, development of policies and procedures, and may supervise employees.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of treatment theory and application to promote the recovery process in Co-Occurring patients.

  • Knowledge of professional mental health treatment ethics.

  • Knowledge of human development.

  • Knowledge of behavioral cultural competencies.

  • Knowledge of interpersonal communications.

  • Knowledge of proposal research and data interpretation.

  • Knowledge of family dynamics psychological diagnostics and assessments.

  • Knowledge of abnormal psychology drugs and behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Master's Degree (typically in a field that meets the academic standards of the board)

Experience:

1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in a field that meets the academic standards of the board) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Certified Practitioner

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Licensed Clinical Social Worker and/or Licensed Professional Counselor, Provisionally Licensed Social Worker and/or Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor

Necessary Special Requirements

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or one-quarter of one's body weight with assistance.

NOTES:

  • FLSA: Exempt

  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions. Drug testing will be completed on any position if reasonable suspicion exists.

  • A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.

  • A current Influenza Vaccination is required.
