Advantive Software Implementation Consultant - Abaca in United States
This role is within our Professional Services team and is responsible for the training and implementation of customers on our ERP software solution, Abaca. Individuals will coach customers along their process of implementing their own solution with our detailed plan and moving a large-scale project from kickoff to completion over a period of several months.
The role is the primary contact and resource that engages with customer subject matter experts to clearly understand their functional and technical requirements. Using this gained knowledge to then properly establish configuration settings that maximize the effectiveness of the software solution. You will work closely with customers to analyze their use cases and provide guidance on where efficiencies and better business practices could be implemented. As well as bring suggestions from customers on methods to improve the application, and increase a customer’s acceptance of the system.
Special focus areas include implementing accounting systems and practices, business/workflow analysis, data conversion/integration analysis, and reporting analysis following a prescribed plan with milestones and deadlines that must be met to be successful.
The ideal candidate is driven to get customers implemented and utilizing our software application using energy, and patience, to maximize the value a customer is receiving from our solution. This role is highly visible and works primarily at the customer’s business operations and in front of the customer’s management and staff. Success is easily observed, but not without a focused and dedicated individual.
Skills & Other Requirements
Needs to live in South Africa and be eligible to work there
2+ years of experience working with ERP/MES software solutions
3+ in the packaging industry is required
General Software Application knowledge in Java, .Net or other system-based processing applications
Demonstrated experience with MSSQL and MYSQL
Ability to solve complex problems quickly and provide understandable solutions
Technical support troubleshooting experience
A solid technical knowledge involving Linux and shell scripting, Windows and power shell or other scripting experience
The ability to communicate well, run consulting sessions or virtual/in person classes and provide enthusiasm about our products
Application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications
Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the management and coordination of activities
Ability to give the customer comfort on any issues relating to the software
Working knowledge of the target operating system
Working knowledge of the hardware environment
Knowledge of the customer’s business needs and the business processes
Ability to identify delicate situations; utilizing effective people skills, relating to corporate level and plant management; the ability to deal with the plant’s hourly workers and their criticism
Software installation, configuration of the software, configuration of the operating system, training of the customer service, planning, sales and manufacturing staff in the use of the software, answering questions, supervising the process, making recommendations to customers on use of the software
A good working knowledge of the manufacturing environment, the functionality of the software and the configuration for their needs; when necessary, using this knowledge to directly connect Advantive software to manufacturing machinery
Strong analytical skills for identifying causes of problems and their resolution
Strong people management skills; good knowledge of software, functionality, operating systems and hardware environments
Ability to manipulate the systems through on-line access
Ability to deal with multiple problems and be able to prioritize
Ability to prove to our customers (by deeds and actions) that “we care”
Determination to ensure issues are followed through
Documentation of all customer contact events through the systems provided
Written reports on on-site training and other activities
Constant striving to identify areas for product and procedural improvements

Application of special knowledge with discretion and judgment
Knowledge in core manufacturing areas of estimating, cost analysis, inventory, scheduling, feedback, shipping and accounting
Up to 50% travel and occasional weekend work
