Atrius Health Senior Contract Manager ( MASS, Local Remote ) in United States

_Summary of Position_

Under general direction, is responsible for supporting the practice's overall contracting needs and initiatives, including but not limited to health plans, hospitals, contracted physicians, and ancillary vendors. Key responsibilities include developing contract strategy, directing contract negotiations, directing analysis and evaluation of financial and legal issues related to contractual arrangements, providing project management of operational issues associated with contract implementation and communication to internal and external customers regarding contract arrangements and information. Serves as primary relationship manager with contracted entities.

_Essential Functions_

· Directs and coordinates the development and implementation of contract strategy.

· Identifies, evaluates, and prioritizes contracting opportunities and needs working with central specialties, site administration and management offices.

· Directs and coordinates contract negotiations including legal, business and financial terms.

· Evaluates and analyzes contractual financial methodologies including, but not limited to, full and partial capitation, fee for service, DRG’s, per diem, case rates, session fees, performance bonus and management fees.

· Interfaces between Utilization Analysis and Clinical Programs (UACP), Managed Care Finance (MCF), Sites and Specialties to coordinate financial settlements, rate reconciliations, performance bonus and audits.

· Manages, coordinates, and resolves operational issues related to contracts. Serves as primary relationship manager for internal Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates’ departments and external contracted vendors.

· Manages correspondence relating to contracts and responds to requests for potential new contract arrangements.

· Manages and coordinates internal communication with respect to contractual arrangements and information with appropriate departments within Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates.

· Develops and maintains contract administration and compliance function.

· Monitors and evaluates service delivery and patient/member complaints involving contracted providers/health plans.

· Serves as contracting committee member on cross-functional teams/meetings as assigned by Vice President.

· Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company policies and procedures.

_Minimum Requirements_

/Education:/ BA/BS (or equivalent education, training, or experience) with an MBA/MPH/MHA desired.

/Skills and Experience:/Skills and experience typically acquired through 7-10 years professional experience, with 5-7 years in the managed healthcare environment. Multiple setting experience is preferred (i.e., health plan and provider experience). Excellent communication and relationship building skills required as well as contract negotiation. Project management experience is desired. Ability to work independently and at all levels within an organization (internal and external).
