Requirements

Role Overview:

As Greenbacker continues to raise capital and grow our investment portfolio, an opportunity has arisen to join the team as a Senior Asset Manager. This role will report to the VP of Operations and will work closely with the entire Greenbacker Operations team, while also working independently as the designated point of contact for wind assets and fulfilling reporting and compliance obligations to customers, financial partners, utilities, and regulatory organizations. The Operations team is responsible for operating all our existing solar, wind and biomass assets as well as conducting technical diligence on new acquisitions.

The ideal location for the candidate will be in Montpelier, VT or Portland, ME, but remotely based candidates living within the United States will also be considered. This role will require occasional project related travel as well as travel to conferences and industry events.

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Management Lead:

o Oversee multiple wind farm assets owned and operated by Greenbacker.

o Accountable for portfolio management and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Budgetary Tasks:

o Create and manage operations and maintenance budgets.

o Coordinate with Financial Planning and Accounting on monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting; ensure projects hit EBITDA targets.

o Management and alignment of project modeling and budget inputs to optimize financial performance.

o Create and manage cost-benefit analysis to ensure operational and financial decisions are made to maximize KPIs.

Warranty Claim and Insurance Claim Management:

o Accountable for managing and resolving warranty claims and disputes.

o Collaborate with Risk Management and Legal teams in managing and completing insurance claims.

Regulatory, Energy Markets & Compliance Management:

o Responsible for all regulatory obligations on operational assets (NERC, FERC, EIA, PUCs, ISOs, etc.)

o Support and Manage processes and strategy for REC Transactions, Energy Market sales and transactions, and Merchant Risk on current and future assets.

o Identify and manage all asset management compliance-related tasks and obligations to ensure prompt completion and full compliance with agreements, regulations, permits, and other requirements.

Environmental Compliance Management

o Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal permits related to wind farm operations.

o Accountable for environmental permitting strategy and coordination with third-party environmental consultants and developers.

Reporting, Monitoring & Optimization:

o Monitor the performance of assets via a centralized monitoring platform and/or individual wind project SCADA systems in collaboration with operation managers.

o Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual KPI reports explaining budgeted variance and site performance.

Contractual Management:

o Oversight and management of Power Purchase Agreements, Interconnection Agreements, and other revenue contracts.

o Oversight and management of project management contracts, including but not limited to Master Services Agreements, Full Services O&M, Asset Management, Balance of Plant, Power Marketing, Etc.

o Oversight and management of site control contracts, including but not limited to Land Leases, easements, facility use agreements, landowner payments, and associated vendor management.

o Manage Warranty contracts and End-Of-Warranty Claims per Turbine Supply Agreements.

Communications:

o Primary point of contact for PPA off-takers, lessors/landowners, ISOs, regulatory organizations, and financial partners.

o Communications with internal Greenbacker Wind Operations Managers, Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Investments, and other departments.

o Regularly communicate with site O&M providers to ensure operational readiness and responsiveness.

Business Operations:

o Help streamline, automate, and improve reporting and compliance requirements processes.

o Participate in or manage projects and initiatives for the Wind Operations team to enhance productivity and organization of the department.

o Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· 6+ years of experience in a wind asset management or energy asset management role.

· Experience in electricity market regulatory matters, preferably within the renewable energy industry.

· Experience with Energy Market management including Day-Ahead and Real-Time trading and scheduling, and Merchant Risk Management.

· Deep experience with plant operations, regulatory compliance, contractual management, and financial and technical reporting on wind assets.

· Experience with P(L) management and accounting.

· Strong wind data background with ability to analyze large datasets. Turbine SCADA familiarity, preferred.

· Familiarity, education or experience with renewable energy project construction, preferred.

· Highly skilled and experienced in problem solving and issue resolutions within the renewable energy sector.

· Highly proficient in learning and implementing new software tools and maximizing their full potential.

· A strong focus on organization and timeliness.

· Detail Oriented. Someone who will get the small things right and leave no stone unturned in the quest for precision and accuracy.

· Availability to travel (up to 20%)
