MKS Instruments Inc Production Assembler in United States

Spectra-Physics, Ophir, Newport and ESI are brands within the MKS Instruments Photonics Solutions division. We provide a full range of solutions including lasers for precision industrial and scientific research applications, laser and LED measurement, beam profiling, precision motion control, optical tables and vibration isolation systems, photonics instruments, temperature sensing, opto-mechanical components, optical elements, and systems for flexible PCB laser processing, high-speed MLCC testing, and CO2-laser-based systems HDI PCB and IC substrate manufacturing. MKS Photonics Solutions enhance our customers’ capabilities and productivity in the semiconductor, advanced electronics and specialty industrial markets.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Production Assembler at Photon Control Inc., a subsidiary of MKS Instruments, Inc. you be responsible for assembling all electronic component parts including for the preparation, placement, and installation of all component parts. In this role, you will report to the Production Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Manual assembly of electronic components including complex and accurate parts according to assembly procedures, custom specs and quality standards.

  • Perform hand soldering and test, mixed assemblies and custom parts.

  • Component preparation, placement and installation.

  • Final assembly and/or pack and ship as required.

  • The mechanical assembly as required.

  • Conduct repair/touch up/modifications on the products as required.

  • Be able to work on different aspects of manufacturing operations.

  • Participate in training and certification programs to ensure job knowledge and skills set.

  • Participate in all team level quality improvement initiatives, 5s, and safety procedures.

  • Other duties as required.

Skills You Bring:

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of standards in electronic components handling preferred.

  • Familiar with Lean principles would be an asset.

  • Hands-on manufacturing skills such as manual soldering is required.

  • Basic Excel experience is required.

  • Strong communication skills and a team player.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs

  • Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time

  • Perform repetitive tasks such as hand polishing, labeling and packaging.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour. This rate is a reasonable expectation of pay for this position, based on a range of factors including qualifications, experience, education, training, operational and business needs and other considerations.
