Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for satisfying all required tests and analysis requested by the client (25%)

  • Develop spreadsheet software on all experimental results (10%)

  • Write report required by the funding group, and attend all group meetings and lead discussions (20%)

  • Lead the operation and maintenance of all lab equipment including trouble shooting (10%)

  • Manage and oversee all graduate students, student workers (15%)

  • Finally, he must respond to all inquiries and request by the funding groups (10%)

  • Perform tasks assigned by the supervisor (10%)

Required Education and Experience:

  • PhD in Agricultural Engineering

Preferred Experience:

  • At least 3 years experience in laboratory analysis and experimentation with excellent publication record in energy and air quality research.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Skilled in MS Word and Spreadsheet software with knowledge in Macro-related routines.• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Skilled in operation and maintenance of all energy and air quality related equipment and facilities including bench and pilot units.• Knowledgeable in all ASTM, EPA and ASABE biomass and biofuels test protocols and lab certifications.

• Able to maintain a BSL-1 lab and preferably a BSL-2 lab• Able to operate and trouble shoot all thermally related laboratory facilities and equipment including bench and pilot units.• Knowledgeable in air quality dispersion modeling software such as AERMOD and must be proficient in the use of EPA approved Federal Reference Method (FRM) particulate matter (PM) samplers.

• Ability to operate and maintain Malvern and Coulter Counter PM multi-sizer with ease.• Ability to be a drone licensed pilot or be able to certify himself as operator. Familiar with EPA Method 9 protocol and related protocol.• Familiar with circularity concepts estimation such as carbon credit and carbon footprint work, life cycle analyses (LCA) and techno-economic analyses (TEA).• Solid publication record.
