The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies is looking for a Systems Analyst to support our government customer located on Andros Island, Bahamas.

The Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission is to provide Naval Warfare Centers, the Fleet, and other customers with accurate undersea, surface, and in-air three and four-dimensional tracking sensor data and other unique testing facility support capabilities. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) supporting Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), and Fleet readiness assessment and training, and is Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Division Newport's largest single team project, providing support for both deep and shallow water test and training environments.

Systems Analyst is primarily responsible for the analysis and consolidation of sensor system measurement and tracking data for presentation as data products to customers testing at the AUTEC project. Tasks are complex in nature, requiring experience, knowledge and judgment to select the appropriate processing method from a variety of approaches, while using specialized software applications for the AUTEC project.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • System modeling, error estimation and propagation, systems accuracy estimation and validation, preparation of detailed systems evaluation test plans, test data analyses, and programming of analytical computer programs.

  • Professionally planning, conducting, and reporting systems analyses that can encompass any hardware and software component of the AUTEC tracking systems with technical supervision.

  • Development of testing methodologies and tools, primarily software, to support the implementation of the testing methodologies.

  • Generate technical papers to document testing methodology, analysis, results, and conclusions.

  • Analyze trends in AUTEC tracking systems to identify anomalies.

  • Manages, organizes and condenses range sensor data collected during tests for creation of data products provided to test customers.

  • Ensures data validity and performs reduction and analysis of data with the aid of specialized, in-house written software applications.

  • Applies education and extensive on-the-job training to the interpretation and analysis of sensor data.

  • Scheduled and unscheduled shift work as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

    BS/BA degree. (Physical Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Ocean Engineering or Mathematics preferred).

    REQUIRED SKILLS ANDEXPERIENCE:

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Windows O/S and communications, word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills required to create and validate data products and produce technical documentation.

  • Attention to detail required for data analysis, adherence to security requirements, review of test plans and for testing and certification of data processing applications.

  • Highly motivated to learn new technologies and skill sets.

  • High level of analytical interest, motivation, and ability in the areas of determining and improving accuracy and performance capabilities of various sensor, tracking and navigation systems.

  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of statistics, the physical sciences, and mathematics.

  • Programming skills using MATLAB is a bonus. Knowledge of JAVA and object-oriented programming is also a plus.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Functions well in both an individual and team-oriented work environment.

  • May work extended hours that are test dependent, approximately 8-12 hours.

  • This position requires the individual to be eligible to obtain a US Government security clearance; US Citizenship is required.

  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.

  • A valid US Passport and Driver’s License is required. Normal sight and hearing (natural or corrected), and normal color perception are required.

    REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Must have an active Secret Clearance.
