Position Description Summary
APT Research is looking for a Junior System Safety Engineer to join our defense division. Applicants should have knowledge of S&MA disciplines with a focus on System Safety.

The responsibilities include the following:
Prepare program safety documentation for an advanced Air Force Missile system
Generate hazard reports/safety assessments including supporting documentation
Assist in preparing inputs to a Programmatic Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Evaluation (PESHE)
Assist in preparing inputs to Threat Hazard Assessment (THA)
Required Experience/Education:
4 years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree in science, engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, aeronautics, safety or a closely related technical discipline
Knowledge of MIL-STD-882E and MIL-STD-2105
Hazard report generation
Safety assessments experience
Security Clearance Requirement:
US Citizenship
Secret Clearance
Preferred Experience:
Background in Air Force Missile Programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate well with different levels of management, including presentation skills
Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment and deliver high quality products on schedule
Ability to resolve complex problems and develop innovation solutions

Requires ability to travel domestically (within the U.S.) <15%
