ROLE SUMMARY:

The role of the Global Payroll Specialist is to be the subject matter expert while preparing and processing accurate and timely US, Canada & International payrolls on a biweekly and monthly basis for Loram employees.

FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:

Process Payroll

  • International/North America – know and understand all state and international payroll. High emphasis on international

  • Shadow payroll for employees that work outside their home country

  • International premium; update taxable wages

  • Work Force Management – timesheet collection

  • Audit data – pre-payroll reports, payroll registers

Reconciliation

  • General ledger files; Tax reports (bi-weekly/quarterly/yearly); After-payroll reports; Payroll accounts

Tax Equalization Program

  • Coordinate with third party vendor from all countries to ensure employee’s taxes are filed and paid timely, as well as prepare and process the tax equalizations.

  • Adhere to Company policy when employees work outside their home country

  • Communicate to employees proactively when they begin to work outside their home country

  • Assist with tax payments to foreign country

Policies, Procedures and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and confirm procedures are followed; maintain internal controls, including auditing

  • Create company work procedures and processes for new and existing tasks

Other

  • Backup to other team members; Projects (Lead or Member); Participate in upgrades and adjustments (hotfixes) to the system; Unemployment requests

  • Maintain awareness and compliance of applicable laws (international/federal/state)

  • Audits (work comp, government, prevailing wage, 401k, year-end)
