Geospatial Analyst

Global Consulting International (GCI) is a Utah-based minority-owned, Government contracting business. We are seeking qualified applicants that are motivated by a passion for emergency management and a commitment to our values to join our team.

The Geospatial Analyst will support a variety of deliberate and crisis action planning initiatives. These include national- and regional-level planning efforts in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and FEMA’s federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and business partners.

Location

This is part of a FEMA contract and will be 100% telework, but travel may be required.

Relocation expenses are not authorized.

Responsibilities

Geospatial Analysts will be responsible for providing support to the various planning projects being performed on this contract throughout several FEMA regions and will divide time between multiple projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five (5) years’ experience working on planning-related projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is desired.

  • Knowledge of Remote Sensing (aerial & satellite imagery), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and various geospatial modeling programs to analyze complex data sets in support of disaster operations. Understanding of how geospatial information may be applied to assess and or analyze potential or actual disasters.

  • Knowledge of the Robert T. Stafford Act, the National Response Framework, and other documents related to the National/Federal role in responding to natural disasters and other emergencies.

  • Knowledge of basic office automation systems, like Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Access) and similar products.

  • Effective speaking and writing skills to communicate effectively with staff from FEMA and other agencies, states and local jurisdictions, and the public.

  • Ability to receive a favorably adjudicated public trust suitability prior to entry on duty (EOD).

Preference will be given to applicants holding a current FEMA public trust suitability, and applicants with experience supporting FEMA’s emergency management efforts.
