Overview: Prolifics is seeking a talented and experienced Data Science Architect specializing in Decision Optimization to join our dynamic team. As a global leader in consulting, Prolifics is committed to leveraging cutting-edge technologies to drive operational excellence, enhance decision-making processes, and optimize business outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement advanced decision optimization models and algorithms to address complex business challenges across various functional areas, including supply chain management, logistics, production planning, and resource allocation.

  2. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, business analysts, and domain experts, to understand business requirements, define optimization objectives, and design scalable solutions.

  3. Lead end-to-end solution architecture design, from data ingestion and preprocessing to model development, deployment, and monitoring, ensuring robustness, reliability, and performance.

  4. Utilize a variety of optimization techniques, including linear programming, mixed-integer programming, constraint programming, and metaheuristic algorithms, to develop innovative solutions that drive efficiency and cost savings.

  5. Evaluate and integrate third-party optimization tools and platforms, as needed, to augment internal capabilities and accelerate time-to-market.

  6. Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.

  7. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in decision optimization, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

  8. Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, presenting complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner, and influencing decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, operations research, applied mathematics, or related field; advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.

  2. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing decision optimization solutions in a corporate or consulting environment, preferably in the chemicals, manufacturing, or supply chain industry.

  3. Strong proficiency in mathematical modeling, optimization algorithms, and optimization software packages (e.g., IBM ILOG CPLEX, Gurobi, FICO Xpress, SAS/OR).

  4. Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science and optimization, such as Python, R, Java, or C++.

  5. Experience with optimization modeling languages (e.g., AMPL, OPL) and optimization modeling tools (e.g., IBM Decision Optimization Center) is a plus.

  6. Solid understanding of data science concepts and techniques, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, predictive modeling, and machine learning.

  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions.

  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making processes.

  9. Proven track record of leading complex projects from inception to completion, delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget.

  10. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
