PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Mars Science and Diagnostics (SDx) Business Analytics team supports our At-Home Diagnostics and Veterinary Diagnostics businesses. In this role, you will be leading Business Analytics for At-Home Diagnostics, primarily supporting our Wisdom and Whistle businesses. You will have the opportunity to collaborate across our businesses to drive new insights about our products, pets, and pet-parents. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills and can address business challenges through data analysis.

Apply analytics and data science methods, unlock actionable insights, and make recommendations to build the foundations for a better understanding of pets and pet-parents

Design compelling analyses and visualizations to communicate meaningful metrics to different audiences

Partner across SDx businesses to surface insights and influence how the organization thinks about our challenges

Further a collaborative environment across teams and business units by operating in an agile environment

Build and maintain KPI dashboards partnering with cross-functional stakeholders within the At-Home diagnostics business

Conduct ad-hoc analytics based on business priorities and present key recommendations to leadership team

Partner with data engineering team to ensure data usability, quality, and consistency on an ongoing basis

Develop key methodologies and metrics to assess performance of new innovations and features

May be asked to support SDx on special projects

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field, such as data science, statistics, mathematics, or computer science

  • 4+ years of applied experience executing analyses and communicating results

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Technical

Expertise in common analytical techniques in retail and ecommerce businesses: lifetime value modeling, churn analysis and prediction, customer segmentation, forecasting, web analytics & campaign measurement, etc. Note: Deep domain expertise in every aspect of advanced analytics isn’t expected, but a readiness and excitement to learn is.

High competency in SQL and Python

Strong data manipulation and cleaning skills

Experience with popular visualization tools (i.e., Looker, Tableau etc.)

Proficiency in creating clear and informative data visualizations

Familiarity with popular tech stacks such as GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.

Non-Technical

Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey data-driven insights and recommendations to cross-functional teams

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address complex business challenges

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope

Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams

The general salary range for this role is between $101,000 - $150,000.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Role can be located in either Fountain Valley, CA or New York, NY.

The associate will primarily work in a typical office environment including use of cubicles, computers and overhead lighting. Temperature extremes will be minimal to nonexistent. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The associate will be required to use a computer, email, and internet.
