GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Department of Workforce Services, OSHA is currently seeking an intern for a 3-month, paid internship. This internship is for students interested in learning/participating in health and safety opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
Conduct data sorting and preparation to help draft a Work-Related Fatal Injuries in Wyoming Report
Participate with all divisions of OSHA Team (Compliance, Consultation, and Operations) for inspections, visits, and outreach
Learn and participate in discrimination investigations, complaint and imminent dangers investigations, industrial hygiene monitoring, assisting operations team in processing of results of work conducted
Assist in the development and distribution of safety communication materials
Document and assist with safety meetings
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Student pursuing knowledge and experience in health & safety
Student pursuing a degree in safety or related field
KNOWLEDGE:
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Must work effectively in a team environment
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, i.e. Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any student who is currently enrolled in and attending an institution of higher education and meets the minimum qualifications listed is eligible to apply to the Internship Program. This includes vocational-technical programs as well as undergraduate and graduate programs.
Demonstrated commitment to safety
Valid driver's license with the ability to get to and from work
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Expect to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-5:00 pm
Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, loud noises, and more within OSHA standards.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly, stand for long periods, and walk for moderate-to-long distances on varying surface conditions
Must possess adequate communicative, auditory, and visual capabilities to avoid safety hazards
Must have the ability to use standard office equipment such as computers
