Description

The Associate Admissions Director is responsible for the leadership and administration of the admissions process for the academic, workforce, and selective admissions programs and has direct oversight of the admissions team. This position works to support increased growth and uses the institution's software programs, database, and Banner reports to set communication, processing, and enrollment goals. This position reports directly to the VPSA and serves on the division's Senior Leadership Team.

The Associate Admissions Director must have extensive knowledge of the college application process and the ability to lead a team to meet key performance metrics such as a number of call completed, applications processed, and students enrolled. The incumbent is expected to collaborate with all departments within the institution to contribute to the efforts in education, serving and enrolling students from culturally diverse backgrounds including adult learners. This position may require travel to all campuses and will include some evening and/or weekend work hours. This position is exempt, full-time, and non-classified in the Student Affairs division. Offer will be commensurate with education and experience.

Examples of Duties

• Provide leadership and management of the admissions department to help the institution meet its enrollment goals.

• Oversee the processes and procedures for evaluating and entering admissions applications for the academic workforce, and selective admissions programs of the college.

• Set realistic key performance indicators (KPI’s) for admissions staff based upon available data and design appropriate reports and processes to ensure these KPI’s are being met.

• Work with our Banner team to create reports and processes to help monitor accuracy of information being entered into the database.

• Serve as the Designated School Official for international students and ensure the admissions office stays compliant with all federal and state laws, policies, and procedures.

• Supervise and coordinate department planning and operations; supervision, development, and evaluation of all assigned staff; management of budgets; etc.

• Serve as the point of contact for any state agencies that require paperwork or information updates related to enrollment such as Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA) and the Unemployment Office.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in counseling, educational management, or related field.

• Five years of full-time experience with progressively increasingly responsibilities in an admissions department.

• Experience with the implementation of and maintenance of administrative computing software, preferably BANNER.

• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic culture, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of community college students and employees

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Preferred

• Master’s Degree from an accredited college/ university
