Full training will be provided to deliver the right outcomes for our customers, our Insurer clients and Sedgwick.

We will consider candidates with no loss adjusting experience but with the right attributes as above.

Our adjusters adopt a mix of site, home and office-based working throughout the week which helps support a healthy work/life balance. You will also be required to engage and work with multiple internal and external specialists, so excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate various parties are essential, whilst always ensuring you have kept the customer fully updated at all times. When you do spend time in our office, you’ll experience bright and open surroundings which offer excellent areas for collaboration as well as desk space. It’s an ideal environment for working alongside and interacting with fellow colleagues.

Whilst you will be comfortable working on your own, you’ll be a core part of our extensive team of adjusters, and you will have dedicated team-based technical and managerial support working alongside you to assist with the management of your portfolio and join you in the delivery of the exceptional customer service we demand. Systems training will be available as required and we will also provide appropriate support for remote (home) working if necessary.

Required for this role:

  • Analytical skills : Strong analytical skills to assess the cause and extent of the loss.

  • Problem-solving abilities : Dealing with property damage claims often involves complex situations and challenges.

  • Attention to detail : Accuracy is crucial in assessing property damage and determining the appropriate compensation.

  • Empathy and customer service : You must be able to demonstrate empathy and provide excellent customer service, showing understanding and support throughout the claims process.

  • Negotiation skills : You should have strong negotiation skills to reach fair and satisfactory settlements for all parties.

  • Flexibility : There will be occasions when we require you to work away from home during exceptionally busy times, or when there is a business need in another region.

  • Integrity and ethics : You should maintain confidentiality, avoid conflicts of interest, and adhere to professional standards and codes of conduct.

  • Adaptability : You should be adaptable and able to quickly adjust your approach to different situations, ensuring effective and efficient claim resolution.

  • Technical knowledge : An understanding of insurance policies, claims processes, and the technical aspects of property damage assessment. Or, if you don’t have any of the above, an understanding of how a home insurance policy operates and the basic construction of a domestic property.
