IHG Chef de Partie (Main Kitchen) at InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa in United Arab Emirates

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

  • Assist in the preparation of a diverse range of dishes for all-day dining and in-room dining services.

  • Work closely with the Chef de Partie to ensure the efficient functioning of the kitchen.

  • Manage a specific kitchen station and contribute to the smooth operation of the overall kitchen.

  • Execute tasks with precision, adhering to recipes and presentation standards.

  • Conduct quality checks on food items to ensure consistency in taste, texture, and appearance.

  • Follow established hygiene and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

  • Execute dishes according to the menu specifications and assist in developing new recipes.

  • Coordinate with the kitchen team to meet service timelines and guest expectations.

  • Learn and absorb culinary techniques and best practices under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.

  • Participate in training programs to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.

  • Collaborate with front-of-house colleagues to accommodate guest requests and preferences.

  • Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor when interacting with guests in the dining area.

  • Assist in monitoring and managing kitchen inventory, including stock rotation and requisition of supplies.

  • Contribute to minimizing wastage and ensuring cost-effective kitchen operations.

What We need from you:

  • Preferably with experience in Mediterranean cuisine.

  • Culinary diploma or relevant certification from a recognized culinary school.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a culinary role, resort experience is an advantage

  • Exposure to all-day dining and main kitchen operations is advantageous.

  • Basic understanding of culinary techniques, knife skills, and food preparation.

  • Willingness to learn and develop skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

  • Effective communication skills to work cohesively with kitchen and front-of-house teams.

  • Ability to adapt to the dynamic nature of kitchen operations and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on supporting the overall goals of the kitchen team. - Attention to detail in following recipes, portion control, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness.

  • Adherence to strict hygiene and safety standards, including knowledge of HACCP principles.

  • Enthusiastic and passionate about culinary arts with a commitment to delivering quality dishes.

  • Eagerness to grow within the culinary field and take on additional responsibilities as skills develop.
