SOL Engineering Services, LLC is searching for an Engineering Technician II to execute technical and scientific tasks. Tasks provide specific input into all phases of testing to include preparing wires and gauges, monitoring of equipment, performing trouble shooting and cataloging data, entering data into electronic format, and reducing data into useable information, and may be conducted in a laboratory, local test area or remote field sites that may be out of state.

Requirements

  • Applicants should possess good communication skills, flexibility, and a willingness to learn and be challenged. Requires an Associate Degree or higher

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, able to pass a background investigation (financial and criminal) and apply for and maintain up to a Secret clearance, as well as having a valid driver’s license.

  • Must have the physical ability to perform manual tasks which may be up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/ or move up to 40 pounds.

  • Solid Mathematics skills, surveying experience, and basic understanding of Microsoft Office and other computer programs are desirable.

  • Preferable experience with instrumentation systems and electronics or circuit theory such as: soldering, completing bridge circuits, splicing connections, creating junction boxes, etc.

  • May require familiarity with very high-speed cameras and data acquisition systems.

  • May require strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills as well as the ability to accurately gather and reduce technical data, and present it with clear, concise verbal and written communication.

  • Ability to operate heavy equipment on a limited basis such as backhoe, dozers, front-end loaders, and forklifts is not required but is desired.

  • May be required to back fill soil or prepare compaction for gravel roadways.

  • May be required to perform soil and/or concrete quality control (QC) testing and basic data input and analysis.

  • May be required to place and tie rebar, prepare formwork in preparation for concrete placement, place concrete, wet concrete as needed for curing, clean up placement site, and relocate prepared forms.

  • Will work inside and outside and some travel may be required, with occasional overtime hours
