Byte is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer in Test , who will be responsible for leading our Test Automation. This candidate will want to be a part of an excellent team of engineers and maintain consistency within our QA and release processes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, design, and execution of test strategies and test plans for multiple projects
Develop, maintain, and advance automated testing frameworks to fulfill project needs
Conduct code reviews and mentor junior Software Engineers in Test.
Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and features
Perform risk assessment to identify and manage critical path testing
Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status
Lead root cause analysis and track bug resolution efforts.
Ensure the latest industry practices and technologies are used for automated testing
Conduct effective resource planning for test deliverables
Actively mentor and train new team members
Lead the architectural design and implementation of our automation infrastructure for our web interfaces, API, and mobile application
Create and maintain suite(s) of automated tests from planning to implementation for each test area
Build out and improve our CI/CD test suites so that we can deliver features faster and with more confidence
Produce documentation for automated features and cross train with other engineers
Investigate bugs and write clear, concise, consistently reproduceable bug reports
Requirements and Qualifications
7+ years experience overall in quality assurance
6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in Test or similar software testing position
5+ years of experience participating in the design and development of software test automation
Experience with medical device software
Willingness to lead initiatives
Ability to dive into technical details and eliminate ambiguity
Must be a self-starting, self-guided individual
In-Depth experience architecting and building automation frameworks
Proficiency with Git, PRs, and branching concepts
Demonstrated personal initiative and strong ownership
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as critical thinking skills

Experience with Playwright automation
Experience with mobile app testing
Experience with Appium automation
Experience with Typescript
Experience with e-commerce web applications
Experience with compliance including SOX, HIPAA, and QA/RA
Experience in cloud technologies/platforms such as Azure or AWS

The base salary and variable compensation for this role is between $120,000 and $135,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
