Overview We are searching for a Controls Engineer to join our PLF team in the UK We are excited to recruit for a Controls Engineer to take ownership for the implementation and support of our powder filling lines, to join our team based on-site in Ardleigh near Colchester, Essex. Responsibilities Your role will be to support the multiple projects we have on our classic rotary powder filling machines and to help with our new virtus/ galactus lines which are still in the development phase. For these new lines, electronically they are motivated by the Siemens and Allen Bradley platforms (Simotion and Kinetix) so as a minimum we would like someone with Siemens experience (we can teach you the Allen Bradley platform). Your role although based in Ardleigh will involve travelling to our site in Belgium where you will report into our Lead Engineer for Controls. You will travel to Sint Niklaas for training, team meetings and testing machinery. You will also get to travel globally to support our customers with your super controls expertise! We need to ensure whoever joins us is comfortable with being very remote, as although you will interact daily with your colleagues from within the mechanical and design teams in the UK and Belgium, you are the only UK-based controls team member, and we foresee you communicating with them via video media rather than face-to-face. What would we like to see on your CV ... We would like someone with programming skills including PLC, HMI, networking and MES For you to have been that go-to person in your role, as you are the one with the specialist information or knowledge of controls and electronic synchronised drive systems and motion technology such as servo drives, kinetix & virtual axis That you have led on designing and also implementing the automation for projects and machinery For you to have worked collaboratively with other teams such as sales, engineering and R&D We would like you to have knowledge of motion control implementation and solutions We expect knowledge of Siemens TIA portal and or Step 7 – we can teach you Rockwell/Allen Bradley if you don't have this experience Familiar working to User Requirement Specifications & Functional Design Specifications Knowledge of generating internal Functional Design Specifications Although no direct reports you will occasionally lead projects and provide on-site guidance You will be responsible for design, testing and manufacturing costs on projects Qualifications An attractive basic dependent on what you bring to us The ability to work in an established international and fast-growing company with opportunities for personal development 33 days annual leave Salary Sacrifice pension Retail Discount Scheme Group Life Insurance Employee Assistance Program Access to our Health & Wellbeing platform About JBT Corporation: JBT is an international market leading company in the global food processing industry, we make market leading machinery for food production lines.
