SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with a packaging and crating company seeking an experienced CAD Drafter to join their facility in Tualatin, OR. This company has provided innovative and cost-effective design, crating, packaging, and global logistics for over 70 years.

Full-time, Monday – Friday, 7/8 am – 4/5 pm
$30.00 – 35.00 an hour
Primary Function:
The CAD Drafter is responsible for providing CAD drawings and files based on company and customer standards. Proactively maintain and update drawings and other design documentation. This includes but is not limited to drawings used to enable the accurate manufacturing of products, jigs, and templates, as well as files required for the operation of CNC machines or sample table (i.e. Kongsberg Table). Manage multiple CAD projects while also communicating directly with internal and external customers.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
Provide CAD support for sales, manufacturing, and the operation of specific equipment. Kongsberg Table, CNC machine
Interpret written instructions, specifications and other inputs to translate requirements into accurate CAD solutions
Update or recreate existing CAD designs and files as needed
Provide CAD files to vendors to ensure designs are interpreted clearly and accurately.
Provide drawings and files to customers which include customer corporate branding and follow customer specifications for document control
Interact with quality team to assist with the creation of first article inspection forms and documents
Accurately review and document customer provided samples for the purpose of creating all CAD related files
Set up jobs in a manner that allows for safe manufacturing and optimal material yield.
Support technical service calls for issues pertaining to the CNC machine and Kongsberg table
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
Bachelors or one years of CAD experience
Good written and verbal communication skills
Basic understanding of standard drawing and document development processes
Able to provide all CAD related activities specific to company and customer requirements
Ability to use tape measure and measure accurately
Ability to communicate clearly in English with Customers, Corporate Staff, Sales, Operations, and Customer service
Able to use a computer and software applications such as but not limited to MS Office Suite, CAD software
Demonstrate attention to detail, be deadline-driven, with the goal of continuous improvement in skills and abilities
Understand first article inspection process
Proficiency using ACAD, SolidWorks, and ArtiosCAD
Pass a post-offer background check verification
Work Environment:
Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers.
