What you’ll be doing

As a Analyst, Underwriting Documentation, you will be accountable for making decisions about the readiness of Real Estate Secured Lending (RESL) lending documents from a financial analysis and policy compliance perspective. The Analyst, Underwriting Documentation plays a key role in the adjudication process by ensuring financial information and documentation meet CIBC underwriting standards. This role will act as a second set of eyes on complex files and make recommendations regarding the readiness of the financial information for a lending decision. The Analyst, Underwriting Documentation works closely with other Underwriters and Lenders to ensure financial document information is decisioned in an accurate, compliant and timely manner.

How you’ll succeed

  • Analysis – Analyze unstructured financial information to ensure it meets CIBC lending policy requirements and supports a holistic credit decision and route applications for next stage of adjudication. Utilize attention to detail when reviewing documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness of information.

  • Communication – Effectively communicate with Underwriters and Lenders by email to respond to inquiries and foster sound working relationships.

  • Time management – Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment and work in an organized, efficient manner.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate banking experience and have a good understanding of real estate secured lending.

  • You have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
