Take your career as a seasoned SOC Analyst to the next level by joining Randstad's journey in building a Global Security Operations Center (SOC). This role isn't just about technical prowess; it's a chance to showcase your organizational skills and actively participate in shaping a worldwide network.

As a Regional Cyber Defense Lead, you oversee SOC operations in your time zone, and will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and resilience of Randstad's digital landscape. Together with a small team of cyber defense engineers, lead by you, your primary focus would be on hands-on contributions and actively participating in key operational activities. This means rolling up your sleeves and leveraging your expertise in monitoring, analysis, response, continuous improvement, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management.

Randstad's strategic decision to outsource certain SOC services opens up opportunities for you to optimize resources efficiently. This allows you to concentrate on handling the most challenging incidents while ensuring a targeted and effective response. Beyond that, there's room for you to actively contribute to shaping the security landscape, making your technical skills and insights invaluable.

As a Regional Cyber Defense Lead, you will be the go-to person for OpCo proximity in the region, requiring a solid understanding of local IT environments and stakeholders. Your role extends to leading large security incidents, coordinating with local management, the incident response team, and the global response team.

global key objectives

  • Global security operations, via regional Cyber Defense Centers (CDC), collaborating to efficiently hand over incidents to be able to provide 24/7 service, using the follow the sun model.

  • Strategically allocate resources within the CDC team to maximize efficiency across various security capabilities, considering the outsourced services for initial triage and repeatable tasks.

  • Become a true global Security Operations Center, with regional presence and contacts.

  • Work closely with local security and IT stakeholders to integrate the global SOC seamlessly with the broader Randstad organization.

  • Develop and maintain robust global incident response plans, ensuring the team is well-prepared to handle security incidents effectively.

  • Collaborate with the global head of security operations and other regional cyber defense leads to align with and enhance global strategies, ensuring the overall effectiveness of the Global SOC.

  • Collaborate on the implementation of monitoring improvements, ensuring that the Global SOC remains proactive in identifying and mitigating security threats.

  • Provide regular and concise reports to relevant global, regional and local stakeholders, keeping them informed about the SOC's activities, incident trends, and security posture.

  • Ensure that Global SOC operations adhere to relevant global and local compliance standards and internal policies, maintaining a high level of security and risk management.

what you will be doing

  • Play a crucial role in evolving the regional Cyber Defense Center into an integral component of the global Security Operations Center, fostering a strong regional presence and building essential connections.

  • Lead and manage a small team of cyber defense engineers in your region, giving them guidance, mentoring and support.

  • Oversee the day-to-day CDC operations, ensuring effective security monitoring, analysis and response.

  • Ensure peak efficiency by strategically assigning resources across various SOC capabilities. Achieve an equitable distribution of tasks to enhance overall team productivity.

  • Ensuring the team concentrates on enhancing SOC operations by thoroughly analyzing resolved incidents and proactively recommending new workflows to the outsourced party.

  • Lead incident response efforts when necessary, including taking the regional lead in cyber crisis incidents, working together with Randstad’s crisis management team and our external IR partner.

  • Working closely with the global head of security operations and other regional cyber defense leads to align strategies and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Global SOC.

  • Provide regular and concise reports related to the CDC operations.

  • Perform hands-on senior cyber defense engineer tasks when time permits, contributing directly to key operational activities and leveraging your expertise.

  • Ensure that regional SOC operations adhere to relevant compliance standards and internal policies, maintaining a high level of security and risk management.

  • Maintain communication with local stakeholders regarding status updates, local changes, and activities that may impact security. Participate in local status meetings, stay informed about organizational developments, and remain attuned to the pulse of the organization.

who you will work with

The Global SOC comprises of three regional Cyber Defense Centers (CDC) and operates under the Global CISO office within the Operations and Intelligence department. This department, in addition to overseeing the Global SOC, is accountable for CSIRT, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management.

You will work closely with colleagues in our own functions, but also with architects and IT delivery colleagues in Global IT and the operating companies, to organize Randstad’s capability to effectively respond to any threats to Randstad.

As a regional cyber defense lead you will report to the Global Head of Security Operations.

role related competencies

  • Manage and oversee security incidents in a large scale IT environment.

  • Able to prepare concise reports for senior management, including C-level.

  • Experience in a comparable position within a SOC, or the eagerness to learn and mature in this field; familiarity with a multinational setting is plus.

  • Practical knowledge of industry best practices from organizations such as International Standards Organization (ISO), Center for Internet Security (CIS) or National Institute of Standards (NIST)

  • Having a CISM or similar certification is considered a big plus.
