POSITION QUALIFICATION SUMMARY:
In this role you will be a member of the Oxygen Transport Membrane (OTM) team. You will be responsible for component level testing, analysing data and generating Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to drive cost-reduction activities and improve OTM plant reliability.
As a member of the OTM team, you will have an opportunity to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary group of engineers and researchers and will interface with both suppliers and potential customers of the technology.

Design experiments and build prototypes
Managing laboratory test campaigns, organizing and analysing data and relating membrane performance to microstructure and physical models
Document test results, support root cause failure analysis and drive reliability improvements
Safe operation and corrective /preventive maintenance of existing high temperature, high pressure, ceramic membrane test infrastructure
Comply with Praxair safety guidelines and standards
Participate in HAZOPs, Pre-Start up Safety Review (PSSR) and Management of Change (MOC), writing and maintaining safe operating procedures, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) for the high temperature reactors

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or similar Engineering Technology)
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (domestic and international)
1 or more years’ experience working with high temperature, high pressure process reactors such as Solid Oxide Fuel Cells for power generation or steam Methane Reforming (SMR), Autothermal Reforming (ATR), and/or Partial Oxidation (Pox) technologies for production of syngas
Experience with design and engineering drawing software packages such as Solid WorksTM, or other 3D drawing packages
Experienced in working with high pressure gas supply systems
Working knowledge of high temperature furnaces.
Working knowledge of electrical circuitry and design and installation of control systems
Knowledge of analytical instruments (e.g. Mass spec, Gas Chromatography, etc.), Lab-view, PLC
