Amazon Sr. Learning Program Manager in Tokyo, Japan

We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to lead the Japan Operations Learning and Talent Development (LTD) team. The JP Ops LTD team’s mission is to establish the standard learning platform overarching multiple businesses such as Fulfillment Centers, Amazon Logistics, Amazon Transportation Services, Global Specialty Fulfillment and others in Japan Operations by creating, localizing and implement innovative and scalable leadership development solutions with long-lasting and measurable results.

The ideal candidate is resourceful, customer-focused and team oriented, with outstanding communication skills, has the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders, is able to shift gears in line with business priorities, and enjoys the challenges of developing and improving processes in a dynamic organization. The successful candidate will also have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, superior attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Moreover, the ability to work in dynamic and ambiguous areas is imperative.

Key job responsibilities

• Make and implement the strategy for leader onboarding and development programs including but not limited to developing measurements of success based upon business impact/metrics.

• Develop and deliver world class learning opportunities that are scalable to enable our leaders to deliver the world’s best service for our customers.

• Establish and oversee consistent processes to effectively design and develop programs to best suit the needs of the content (e.g., includes online, classroom, virtual instructor-led training and blended learning options).

• Leverage rapid, agile development techniques.

• Work with key global stakeholders such as Global Operations Learning & Development team to ensure proper bench marking and proper leverage of global resources.

• Work with key local stakeholders such as senior leaders, functional learning teams and HR business partners in each business to ensure alignment with the business needs and expectations.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years’ work experience driving Learning and Development design from the ground up, implementation and management

• Program Management experience that includes managing multiple cross-functional projects and initiatives

• Experience measuring and reporting on business impact of leadership development initiatives

• Business level English and Japanese

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to influence others and execute in a customer-centric manner

• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in an approachable manner

• Master’s degree in related discipline: Instructional Design, Organizational Psychology, Adult Education, etc.

• 5+ years’ Learning & Development experience at Amazon or other high growth business environment with the practical application of complete lifecycle career development from onboarding through leadership and talent development

• Familiarity with online learning technology (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Captivate or similar) and SCORM

• Learning program certificates

• Excited about working in a diverse group and contributing to an inclusive culture.
