Position Objective: The primary function of the role is to support the controls testing and issues management processes of the ICG Risk Governance team.

Key Responsibilities: The job-holder will complete the controls testing and issues management processes across the different functions within the ICG Risk Governance Team. This will include monitoring the control reports as required by the Manager's Control Assessment and compling the quarterly control validation files for each function. The job-holder will also work closely with the functions to document any self-identified issues into the system. They will be responsible for tracking issue and CAP due dates to ensure issue/CAP owners are aware of upcoming deliverables. The job-holder will also assist their manager with reviewing issue drafts and closure memos to ensure completeness prior to submission.

Development Value: Job-holder will have the opportunity to grow their understanding of risk and controls. They will develop the skills to be able to assess a risk process to identify the key risks and develop the controls and testing methodologies to ensure the key risks are being mitigated. Job-holder will also have the opportunity to present to different levels of management, including senior management on the testing results.


  • 1-3 years of relevant risk and controls experience in a financial services environment

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint

  • Knowledge of risk management processes

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Execution and results oriented with a strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and effectively work in a team environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
