Boeing Brazil is seeking Mid-Career Safety Engineers reporting to Integrated Modular Avionics Engineering Manager, working out of the São José dos Campos - SP office .

The Integrated Modular Avionics Safety Engineer will join the Global Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) team to support the development and certification of transport category airplanes. Participation on development of complex electronic systems, analyzing and translating requirements into system, demonstrating compliance with relevant regulatory and customer requirements. .

Responsibilities include translation of concepts and high-level requirements to specific architectures and operational specifications, and the integration of avionics systems and components into our complex airplanes. Work with a worldwide team to implement system hardware and software. Verification of system designs at the component, system and airplane levels. Work with aircraft systems from initial concept through certification, delivery, and in-service support.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define, validate and verify safety requirements

  • Conduct and integrate airplane safety analysis activities (AFHA, SFHAs, PSSA, etc)

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to perform safety analysis activities consistent with System

  • Interact and collaborate with the supplier, cross-functional teams, and program management

  • Solve complex technical systems engineering problems and questions

This position is hybrid / Telecommuting. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer engineering or Aerospace/Aeronautical engineering.

  • Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language.

  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the engineering and agronomy and regional council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA).

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Experience as a system safety engineer throughout the systems development process.

  • Experience with industry practices like ARP4761.

  • Experiencewith ProductDevelopment life cycle and applicable regulations.

  • Experience with commercial airplane certification and procedures

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Additional Information:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil. Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Brazil. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
