SUNY Upstate Medical University Office Assistant 1 in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

Duties include but are not limited to: responds to all requests for CD's and reports; pulls film lists for Mammography and Breast Clinic; files films and reports in numeric systems following established procedures for tracking films, loose films, MRI's, Harrison Center returns and warehouse returns; operates Hospital Information System (EPIC) to locate patient identification; interprets properly from diagnosis and attending physician location of film jackets; operates Radiology Information System (Radiant) to locate and track films, print reports and locate patients' film histories; will use the PACS Cube to burn CD's and scanner to scan films and documents; will assist in pulling and pushing of images to PACS system; will assist with uploading CD's, responding to legal requests and editing transcription reports; will assist with File Room telephone coverage; will assist with incoming resident phone calls. Previous medical records/terminology experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the NY HELPS program. During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Office Assistant 1, SG006 title.

Schedule based on a 40 hour work week. Monday- Friday, 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM

NY HELPS appointments may be temporary pending commissioner approval or permanent based on candidate eligibility.
