The Role

As a Senior People Business Partner you will be at the forefront of the People function for the Pacific arm of our well-established portfolio of Enterprise accounts – responsible for all HR matters, advice and guidance for employees across the ANZ region, as well as creating and championing long-term strategic People initiatives.

Reporting into the APAC Head Of People (overseas), you will be supported by an experienced wider-business team across ER, HSE and Talent Acquisition, and have an opportunity for real positive impact both on current operational needs as well as long-term best practices and new initiatives.

A typical day may involve:

HR Leadership:

  • Designing, driving and implementing People Strategy and structure for an ambitious 3 + year growth plan across the APAC business.

  • Change management related to organisational structure – headcount growth and/or redeployment of site-based employees according to the transitioning of client accounts.

  • Enhancing the onboarding strategy for new employees.

  • Assisting Managers with performance management and guidance around corporate policies and Employee Relations matters.

Talent Retention:

  • Close collaboration with the Pacific Talent Acquisition teams for identification and career development of top talent within the business, as well as retention strategies.

  • Championing new strategies for improved employee engagement.

Learning & Development:

  • Partnering with the L&D team to create strategy for the country, including rollout of training programs for Soft Skills, Leadership and Technical training.

  • Overseeing Talent Management plan for the region, including ongoing succession planning.

  • Supporting creation of any necessary training programs related to diversity, mis-conduct and office productivity.

Governance:

  • Enhancing HR Governance Strategy with respect to labour markets, unions, and changes to employment strategy.

  • Data management for periodic audits, and reporting insights and suggestions to management.

Requirements

  • (ESSENTIAL) - Strong background as a HR / People Business Partner (or equivalent) in the Australian market, within a fast-paced and highly dynamic matrix environment.

  • (HIGHLY PREFERRED) – Experience within a large global business of complex structure.

  • Strong P&L capability to manage a People budget.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and prioritisation skills, with ability to motivate and negotiate effectively.

  • Intimate understanding of Australian labour laws and the Modern Awards system.

  • A sense of resilience and flexibility to work in an agile environment with fluctuating workloads.

  • Proficient with MS Office.

  • Drivers' License, and ability to travel occasionally as required.
