Boll & Branch FP&A Analyst in Summit, New Jersey

As FP&A Analyst, you will be in a highly visible role working hands-on across all areas of the business. This candidate will play a critical role in managing and maintaining financial reporting to support the VP of Finance & Accounting in driving business initiatives and holding the organization accountable to achieving financial targets.

You are an ideal candidate if you are a proactive, process-oriented, self-starting spreadsheet wizard, who is obsessed with automation. You have a high attention to detail, and pride yourself on accuracy and efficiency. You also have a structured approach and a relentless curiosity; and harnessing that curiosity to focus on getting things done and continuously doing things better. You have an analytical nature that instantly distills information into scalable ways to analyze things quantitatively.

This role will report to the VP of Finance & Accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of the core financial planning and analysis function including, but not limited to:

  • The operating model (inputs and ongoing maintenance and augmentation)

  • Monthly financial statement reporting, packages, and commentary

  • P&Ls by channel, retail store locations, and wholesale customer (existing, new, scenario analysis)

  • Monthly departmental KPIs, expense reports, reforecasts

  • Weekly reporting (internal, external) and other ad hoc analysis, etc.

  • Streamline, automate, maintain and continuously evolve financial reporting and dashboards to track business performance

  • Optimize, simplify, automate and maintain existing reporting processes to improve efficiency, accuracy and transparency for all stakeholders

  • Support the annual budget and ongoing forecast processes as well as long-range financial plans, which includes automating, maintaining and augmenting the operating model

  • Support the monthly financial close and review processes by delivering timely and accurate reporting and variance commentary relative to budget, forecast and LY at the channel, store and customer level including but not limited to KPIs, P&Ls, departmental budget reports, monthly reporting packages and other ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed

  • Assemble, summarize, analyze and interpret financial data and metrics and synthesize results into a management discussion and analysis for monthly reporting packages while continuously driving towards automation to accelerate the process

  • Support the preparation of materials for All Hands, Executive Leadership Team and Board meetings

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance

  • 3-5 years experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in consumer goods

  • Excel expert with high proficiency in financial modeling and financial statement analysis

  • Excel skills will be evaluated via an assessment project

  • NetSuite, Solution 7, SQL and Looker experience strongly preferred

  • At a minimum very tech-curious and have experimented with automation tools (e.g. Zapier, different ways to connect spreadsheets together)

  • Ability to communicate complex financial data in a clear and concise manner

  • Must have strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • The right candidate must be comfortable hearing a business problem and distilling a qualitative business problem into a way to analyze and scalably monitor quantitatively.

  • Must be a proactive, self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Think how most efficiently and robustly you can automate the more mundane tasks like report preparation - this creates time - use that time to further enhance automation, understand the business better and add value in other areas.

The primary location for this role is Summit, NJ. We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it's helpful to have flexibility to work remotely. Currently we are operating under a hybrid model whereby all teams work in an office a minimum of two days per week (Tuesdays/Thursdays) and may be provided flexibility to work from home on other days. There may be times when you're asked to work in our NYC office because it's in the best interest of our business or your team.

The annual base salary range for this role is $75,000 to $130,000. It is important to note that our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size, industry, and the market and are one part of the total rewards that we provide. Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, scope of the role, and internal peer benchmarking.
