Description

Fisher Associates is seeking aTransportation Group Managerto join the Transportation Group. The Group Manager actively manages day-to-day business including strategic planning, staffing, execution of quality control measures, and timely delivery of both technical and administrative projects. The goal of this position is to grow and develop the business in the Texas market.

Essential Functions

  • Establishes and maintains strong client relationships adhering to the Fisher Clientship philosophy.

  • Market the transportation sector’s services to existing and new clients and ensure that Fisher Associates is known and visible in the marketplace.

  • Manage team of project managers within the Transportation Group.

  • Develop and maintain a stable, motivated staff with high morale, and mentor staff in developing their professional demeanor, technical competence, team building skills, process improvements, and client relation skills.

  • Adhere to project budgets and schedules, guiding the design of projects, ensuring QA/QC is performed on all calculations and deliverables, and monitoring workload and staff utilizations.

  • Monitor and pro-actively identify or correct technical, schedule or financial issues through effective communication with staff.

  • Coordinate with Project Managers to assist with the development and execution of the business plan in the geography.

  • Mentor and supervise project managers to ensure all goals are being met.

  • Provide input for Go/No Go decisions for RFP’s.

  • Write proposals and attend interviews.

Supervisory/leadership Duties

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field (MS preferred)

  • 15+ years minimum of transportation design experience

  • 10 years minimum of project management experience

  • Professional Engineering License (PE) or ability to obtain it.

  • Prior staff management experience preferred.

  • Client relationship and business development experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of all aspects of project development for a variety of transportation projects for the respective DOT’s, agencies and locally administered federal aid transportation projects in their geographic area.

  • Ability to transverse uneven grounds.

  • Must have an active driver license

  • Environmental Conditions: Office environment, field environment, construction site environment; exposure to dust, noise, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions when working in the field.

Salary Range:$120,000 - $175,000 annually

Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications/education, and other factors.
