Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Three (3) years of full-time work experience. Supervisory experience. Experience developing and/or overseeing college internships.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in higher education. Additional years (2+) of supervisory experience. Experience developing entry level job descriptions. Experience training interns and/or entry-level hires. Experience assessing/evaluating performance of student or professional staff. Experience working with college students in a leadership capacity. Experience producing reports for management.Brief Description of Duties:
A dynamic, innovative, and equity-minded individual will provide leadership to experiential program strategy and services to students, with a focus on our new Center for High-Impact Campus Internships. Strong candidates are high-energy leaders with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, cultural humility, a collaborative approach to problem solving, and a student-centered philosophy. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently and as part of a team. The successful incumbent will have a demonstrated record of navigating complex organizations to find, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships with "champions" and foster collaborative initiatives and have a consistent history of meeting or exceeding performance goals demonstrated through measurable outcomes.

  • Experiential Programs Leadership:
    • With director, co-develops strategy for experiential programs responsive to student needs and aligned with institutional goals.
    • Co-develops process and oversees roll out of new internship stipend program, which will distribute approx. $500,000 annually.
    • Provides leadership and oversight for the Career Center Internship Program, which involves 30-35 undergraduate and graduate interns on six teams with individual team supervisors.
    • Supervises professional staff and student staff.
    • Actively develops and maintains a welcoming and supportive environment for persons who identify with marginalized or non-majority populations.
  • Stakeholder Relations:
    • Establishes and sustains positive working relationships with key partners in academic affairs.
    • Works closely with faculty and staff to elevate existing and develop new high impact campus internships for undergraduate and graduate students.
    • Manages conflict resolution in handling stakeholder concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring positive outcomes.
  • Data Collection & Reporting:
    • Manages existing processes to collect assessment and evaluation data on internships from students, faculty, and campus supervisors.
    • Works with the data analyst team to produce reports for senior leadership and inform decision making.
    • Collaborates with the marketing and communications team to strategically promote and elevate awareness of experiential programs.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive metrics to assess and measure learning outcomes for on campus internships.
  • Direct Client Service:
    • Coach undergraduate and graduate students for internships and other forms of experiential learning.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
    • Evening and weekend work will be required at times.

Special Notes:
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,087 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.Essential Position: This has been designated as an essential position based on the duties of the job and the functions performed.
