Depot Service Technician
ATS Scientific Productsis searching for aDepot Service Technicianto join the team!
The Depot Service Technician will support the daily operations through service, technical support, training & parts sales to our customers and service personnel for equipment manufactured by ATS Scientific Products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Promote customer satisfaction.
Inform customers of and promote SP Scientific products and services.
Train customer personnel in equipment operation and maintenance.
Test, troubleshoot, repair and service most complex systems problems.
Debug and repair assemblies and systems and do final test using electronic test equipment and schematics.
Provide service on important and complex projects.
Serve as liaison between customer and SP Scientific on all support and service issues.
Provide remote customer support via phone and e-mail.
Remain current on technical and process knowledge to properly support SP Scientific products.
Maintain and complete all related documentation & reports associated with field service duties.
Provide input to improve system design, performance, and technical documentation.
Work independently with moderate supervision.
Travel to customer sites as needed .

Office:
The employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
The employee is regularly required to use color vision and work with computerized data.
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit.
The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 500 pounds.
The employee is regularly required to use normal office tools, equipment and PC’s
Shop:
The employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
The employee is regularly required to use color vision and adjust focus between near and far objects.
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, bend and sit.
Use of hands to handle tools and controls.
Use of arms and hands to climb and balance.
Use of the following senses: sight (close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception), hearing talking, taste and smell.
The employee is regularly required to lift up to 70 pounds. Occasionally moving larger objects with assistance.
The employee is occasionally required to work in tight spaces with difficult access.
The employee is occasionally required to work from ladders, lifts, or scaffolds.
The employee is regularly required to handle tools utilizing various energy sources-low and high voltage, pneumatic, hydraulic-of lo to high power.
Work Environment
Office and Shop:
Work is normally performed in both the office and the shop.
The office environment is an interior office with air conditioning.
The shop area contains mobile equipment, machinery, and high voltages.
The shop noise level is variable and may require hearing protection in some areas.
The shop is heated when required but many areas are not air conditioned.
Some shop processes use high voltage arcs or concentrated magnetic fields.
All employees have the responsibility to work in a safe manner and report any health, safety or environmental concern to their manager or supervisor in a timely manner.
Employee responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment include:
Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures
Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods
Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts
Report defect in any equipment or protective device
Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks
Attend all required health, safety and environmental training
Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor
Assist in investigating accidents/incidents
Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
