Summer Session is Stanford University’s fourth academic quarter, offering more than 200 courses from 35 departments to over 2,500 graduate, undergraduate, and advanced high school students. Along with serving the needs of Stanford matriculated students, Summer Session makes it possible for visiting students to take advantage of the same courses, culture, and resources available at Stanford University. The mission of the Stanford Summer Session office is to offer a transformative educational experience to all students, both in the classroom and through an array of enrichment programs, community-building activities, academic support services, and more.

Summer Session is seeking an IT Business Analyst to manage the growing number of systems utilized by Summer Session. This position will analyze front and back-end user needs, enhance system/platform functionalities, and coordinate with various internal and external groups to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

**Please note that the Summer Session office is located at theStanford Redwood City Campus. This position is eligible for consideration of a flexible hybrid work arrangement, subject to operational need.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Identify inefficiencies within internal systems and processes by gathering feedback from stakeholders to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Employ various methods to understand and collect comprehensive requirements from stakeholders, ensuring that system solutions align with organizational objectives.

  • Document and clarify system requirements in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring that they accurately reflect business needs and priorities.

  • Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless integration of system requirements and effective data management practices.

  • Address challenges in system design by integrating external platforms and resolving issues to optimize system functionality and user experience.

  • Conduct thorough testing of systems to ensure functionality, managing upgrades, and providing support through the development of training materials and resources.

  • Manage and maintain software and web-based platforms including Slate, Canvas, Cybersource, Flywire, and other platforms and systems.

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for developers and outside vendors.

  • Oversee, review, and administer student records.

To be successful in the position, you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Excellent time management and project management skills. Demonstrated ability to manage a complex workload, prioritize tasks, and use good judgment in providing services based on goals.

  • Ability to solve problems collaboratively and creatively.

  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to bridge functional and technical resources by communicating effectively with individuals of varying systems expertise and business needs.

In addition, preferred requirements include:

  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Student Information Systems.

  • Experience working effectively within an academic setting to move projects forward.

  • Proficiency with CMS systems, preferably Slate.

  • Experience with enterprise applications and understanding of database driven applications.

  • Must be able to possess or acquire knowledge and understanding of Liquid Markup, XML, SQL, Database Structures, HTML, CSS, and API Integrations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constantly sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.

  • Occasionally stand, walk, twist, use fine manipulation, grasp, use a telephone, write by hand, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

The expected pay range for this position is $80,000 to $112,000 per annum.
