Position Summary

The SAP Functional Lead is responsible for the support, development, and enhancement of the Sonaca North America SAP S4/Hana SD, including reporting. The position requires configuration and solutioning expertise and will provide application/functional support in the SD modules, with focus on the integration between Finance, Sales/Distribution and Production. Significant experience in Warehouse Management and Inventory Management is required to provide guidance and insights to project team members and the business. In addition to the project-based initiatives this position will also be responsible for the day to day production support tasks.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Plans and executes productivity improvement and process enhancement projects.

  • Assesses customer needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to assist in identifying business priorities and advice on options.

  • Responsible for timely delivery of business process changes integrated with systems solutions within a project or significant enhancement request.

  • Ensure consistency of SAP SD processes across all business units to maintain consistency and properly manage the evolution of the model.

  • Lead business process workshops in procurement/material management, and production planning areas to design processes with operational staff. Document and prepare presentation for the process.

  • Assesses/document potential gaps between requirements and global template. Formulate and implement SAP SD appropriate procedures/processes.

  • Design/implement local SD processes to ensure consistency in operational process to system configuration.

  • Provide on-site SAP business process and SD training for key users.

  • Support integration efforts and issues related to Sales and Distribution, Supply Chain, Production, Finance and Warehouse.

  • Report key issues to management and key stakeholders to manage expectations

  • Maintains good working relationships with development partners.

  • Provide after-hours support in cases of a business-critical application problem.

  • Document business requirements; functional description and program specifications of the business solution

  • Develop and implement electronic scanning and labelling systems to enhance SAP processes

  • Builds and tests system solutions; including, creating formal test plans, test data and uses a formal testing tool to log results

  • Build template solutions.

  • Liaison with manager to escalate critical issues with co-source partners.

  • Reviews quality acceptance test plan and monitors the testing process to ensure that business results are adequately tested, and the remaining risks are acceptable.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

    Required Skills/Competencies

  • Ability to develop and configure SAP SD

  • Knowledge of other SAP Modules is an advantage

  • Strong demonstration of leadership capabilities

  • Experience implementing electronic scanning equipment in the SD environment

  • Proven track record of successful delivery of assignments

  • Strong analytical approach to problem solving and solution development.

  • Demonstrates strong organization skills and flexible approach to operate in global context

  • Proven experience with SAP systems implementation in large corporate environment

  • Strong understanding of operational management in a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently while ensuring project stays on track

  • Ability to review functional and technical specifications and make recommendations for improvement prior to development.

  • Implementation experience including setup and configuration of parts processes including inbound logistics, delivery processes, outbound logistics, inventory management, production supply and radio frequency usage

  • Organizational units and master data in the SD system

  • Proven experience in SD interfaces with other SAP modules like inventory management, production planning, quality management and sales/distribution.

  • Demonstrated capabilities with batch management, SAP integration, handling unit management, task and resource management (TRM), and valuation and account determination.

  • Experience with Data Migration and needed SAP tools like LSSD and SAP Queries / Info sets.

  • Knowledge to design technical specifications for the development team.

  • Experience debugging capabilities to support root cause analyzes of issues

    Education Required

    A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business/Accounting.

    Experience Required

    5+ years of experience in supporting SAP SD warehouse processes in a similar environment required. 2+ years of full life cycle system implementations required. SAP sales and Distribution experience is preferred. Relevant experience with parts planning, logistics, internal and external material flow processes, as well as manufacturing plants supply process required.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, working at a desk and/or attending meetings.

  • Use various computer and office equipment as well as be able to move throughout the office and manufacturing area in order to talk/hear or otherwise communicate with employees, management, customers, vendors, and others.

  • Noise level in the work environment ranges from quite to loud.

  • Employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the plant floor.
