Wavetronix Building Engineer in Springville, Utah

Building Engineer Success Profile:

The Building Engineer role is critical to the success of the Facilities Department. He or she will report directly to the Director of Facilities, and will support the company by gaining an understanding of all critical building and campus functions including all incoming utilities as well as mechanical apparatus, electrical systems and electrical distribution, kitchen components and refrigeration components for the campus. The Building Engineer is responsible for helping in performing skilled level maintenance tasks on a day-to-day basis. Performance of building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g., electrical, heating, plumbing, and air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, carpentry, etc.). Will be responsible to perform E.M. (emergency maintenance), P.M. (preventive maintenance), and Project work and other tasks as assigned. This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position. The successful candidate will perform these tasks in order to help the facilities team and Wavetronix manage campus facilities operations as efficiently as possible as the company grows.

Tentative start date: July 15th, 2024

Required Qualifications

  • A degree in Industrial Maintenance or Electrical Automation or related technical field .

  • 2 - 4 years of maintenance experience in an automated industrial setting preferred.

  • Experience in troubleshooting computer-operated electro-mechanical equipment; Programmable Logical Controllers's, I/O, and field devices; repairing, setting up, adjusting, and tuning mechanical systems and pneumatic systems a plus.

  • Experience using all tools and procedures needed to repair precision electrical and mechanical building equipment successfully the first time.

  • Experience using preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.

  • Experience using Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to execute, monitor, and report on maintenance procedures and work orders.

  • Flexibility to occasionally work outside of normal shift hours, including occasional weekends, as needed to satisfy operational requirements in support of customer demand.

  • Experience in Electrical/ Mechanical equipment commissioning preferred

The successful Building Engineer will accomplish the following:

First 30 Days:

  • Go through the onboarding process to gain a better understanding of the company process and learn about the corporate culture

  • Work with other Facilities team members to understand complete scope of the role and start the implementation process of fulling this role.

  • Begin learning the process of accessing all Facilities/ Building related software, hardware, mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, kitchen equipment and other campus operations equipment to be able to open, create, complete, and close out workorders and other assigned responsibilities.

  • Learn to order and or purchase tools/ supplies and parts as needed to complete work order requests as needed

  • Learn to use and navigate Click-up, MS Teams, MS Office 365 and other software and hardware required to complete assigned tasks.

First 60 Days:

  • Become familiar with and take responsibility for the buildings and spaces that they will be responsible for maintaining.

  • Will help in the process of maintaining inventory of all tools, parts and supplies needed to run the campus and buildings to maintain optimal performance

  • Will learn and be responsible for managing the CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) to complete preventative maintenance and other maintenance tasks.

  • Become familiar with the operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals for the equipment they are required to maintain, including the manufacturer's recommendations for doing so.

  • Assist in the furniture management, including inventory and maintenance, within the space they are assigned.

First 90 Days

  • Begin to work autonomously and oversee building operations and maintenance for the assigned buildings and equipment.

  • Develop and execute a rigorous P.M. schedule for all Mechanical and Electrical apparatus and all other PM's as needed to maintain all campus and building functions as assigned.

  • Begin developing relationships with suppliers and vendors, as well as on-site construction contractors and sub-contractors and facilitate necessary cooperation to complete assigned tasks.

1-2 Year out:

  • Ability to lead a project crew of 2 or more people for the express purpose of managing the operations and maintenance of assigned buildings and functions
