HP Inc. Embedded Systems Firmware Architect for ARM in Spring, Texas

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and experienced Principal Embedded Systems Firmware Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing firmware for ARM-based systems and a passion for innovative embedded solutions. As a Principal Firmware Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of firmware for a variety of embedded applications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of firmware for ARM-based embedded systems

  • Architect firmware solutions to meet complex system requirements and performance goals

  • Ensure firmware meets performance, power, and memory requirements

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to firmware development team

  • Drive continuous improvement in firmware development processes

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in embedded systems

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in hardware, firmware, and software engineering, with a focus on ARM-based platforms.

  • Strong proficiency in C/C++, Python, and assembly language programming for ARM architecture.

  • Extensive knowledge of hardware design principles, including SoC architecture, memory subsystems, and peripheral interfaces.

  • Experience developing firmware and device drivers for ARM-based systems, including familiarity with UEFI and ACPI standards.

  • Experience in software development for Windows on ARM, including application development, optimization, and debugging.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on schedule and within budget.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
