Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business and has significant impact across the lifecycle of a Trade. We partner extensively with a range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with our external client base, playing a key role in the overall client experience. We have a Client relationship group dedicated to overseeing the group service performance and strategic partnership for our top tier client base, where we play a key role in supporting our global clients to ensure they have a first class experience when doing business with Citi.

Our Digitization and Implementation group works alongside our Operations teams delivering automation solutions to solve for operational challenges. We partner with Citi’s innovation labs to drive optimization and overall play a pivotal role in enabling us to transform to achieve our target operating model.

Our Technology partners develop and implement a wide range of applications that support the Operations, Change, Design and Implementation groups in providing innovative products and solutions. We have re-imagined how to provide technology and service in our domain through the alignment of our team vision, culture, and aggressive retirement plan for legacy applications and adoption of a micro-based containerized cloud environment. This is an exciting opportunity to kick start your career at Citi! We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic team players, with a strong work ethic, who will join Markets Operations. You will play a pivotal part in helping to support the APAC Rates Compression Activity. Working closely with Business partners, Clients and internal stakeholders to ensure all transactions flow through our front to back Operations teams, with no issues. The overall objective of this role is to support trading desk, maintain position records, and improve Compression process efficiency. The primary support coverage would be for the APAC Rates and XVA Trading desk.

Responsibilities:

  • To support Compression activity for Australia and APAC. Be the first point of contact as APAC Representative to drive all the senior business discussion and coordinate the global direction with the respective stakeholders.

  • The candidate requires strong product knowledge in Rates especially within the APAC LM Rates space. To review current APAC compression process end-to-end to identify any potential control gaps to maintain global consistency.

  • This role is expected to work with Global Project Manager on JIRA prioritization for APAC and to streamline the current Rates and Compression processes to help meeting the MTP reduction by 5% globally

  • To work with Rates Trading and Global XVA trading to explore more opportunities for compression to improve the GSIB score and bank’s balance sheet. Provide analytical and administrative support to Front Office Sales and Trading specifically around derivatives and securities transactions.

  • This role is expected to work with various vendors and partner with the other region Compression and Rates MO to improve the overall compression result for Asia. Support trade capture management, Front to Back reconciliation, identifying operational risk, trade confirmation and settlement forecasts

  • To prepare Business Management deck and matrices for compression result analysis and trend. Utilize data analysis tools and methodologies to make recommendations to senior management to support process improvement

  • This role is expected to attend the relevant industry call for example LCH and ISDA to get the latest update from the industry to understand the methodology and standards for existing trades conversion.

  • This person is also expected to work with the regulatory reform team to perform ISDA fallback tagging and any required post trade actions.

  • Minimize bank risk, and provide solutions to reduce errors, and ensure adherence to audit and control policies

  • Manage, escalate and resolve all requests / inquiries / issues / errors and identify policy gaps and formulate policies to streamline processes

  • Provide informal guidance and/or on-the-job-training to new team members

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

  • The candidate would need to be able to support Australia time zone shift at times if there is Australia Compression run.

  • Hybrid working environment with 3 days working from Office arrangement.

Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
