Sonos Senior Audio Engineer in Shanghai, China

As a Senior Audio Engineer within this newly formed product development organisation you will be responsible for developing the acoustic systems at the heart of the industry’s most innovative ultra-portable products. In the process, you will work with some of the brightest minds in the business across multiple disciplines of software, hardware and acoustics.
What You’ll Do
Develop acoustic structures and systems
Evaluate hardware and define system requirements
Root cause complex problems that may span interfaces between hardware and software
Analyse product data, test product samples, and lead the optimisation of design
Communicate and liaise with contract manufacturers and vendors
Contribute to the development of the technology roadmap
Develop and mentor junior engineers
Requirements
Core:
An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in acoustics
A minimum of 5 years of relevant audio product development experience
A proven track record of supporting the development of products from exploration through to mass production
Proficient in building tools for system simulation and data analysis using Matlab
Experience of performing and interpreting audio measurements in electronic and acoustic domains
Knowledge of the fundamentals of digital signal processing
Experience with manipulating physical prototypes to achieve accurate acoustic results
Strong written and verbal English communication skills with experience articulating technical concepts in cross-functional teams
The ability to travel within China and overseas when required, to meet the needs of the project and the business
Preferred:
Software programming experience
Knowledge of Python
Familiarity with simulation software such as COMSOL
Experience with supporting high volume production in consumer electronics
