REI Sr Manager Store Tools & Technology in Seattle, Washington

Overview

This role contributes to REI’s success by leading strategic planning and tactical execution of a store tools & technology portfolio that consistently delivers employee and customer value.

Driving the vision, roadmap, discovery, delivery and iteration for multiple products and programs across a range of employee and customer touchpoints. Leading product managers, UX designers and program managers that work within assigned product and program areas of responsibility to deliver solutions that make work easier and faster for employees and enhance customer experiences.

Partnering and building collaborative connections that span levels and functions, including enterprise and domain architects, UX/CX leaders, executives and stakeholders across the Co-op. To deliver outcomes that further business and customer results using solutions that span across functions and divisions.

Developing and articulating a point of view on hardware, platform and network priorities that effectively communicates the needs of the stores organization and contributes to enterprise planning and prioritization.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Your Planning & Navigating Requirements

  • Lead product managers, program managers and UX designers to solve big and complex customer problems, often spanning across divisions.

  • Develop high functioning product and program teams that make work easier, faster and more impactful for the stores teams they support

  • Articulate a product vision and strategy. Clearly translate the vision into product team objectives. Inspire and align the organization behind our vision and strategy.

  • Work collaboratively with design, engineering and architecture to make collective leadership decisions

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with key stakeholder leaders to facilitate team success

  • Identify and clear obstacles for teams through guidance, assistance and partnerships.

  • Actively contribute to the development of product best practices. Lead adoption of best practices with reports. Serve as a recognized expert, respected product management practitioner and technology leader.

  • Engage and collaborate with product leaders across the co-op to ensure alignment of roadmaps, priorities and resources

  • Provides coaching, guidance, direction and leadership support to employees in order to achieve department, company and customer results.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years’ experience managing consumer digital products

  • 3+ years’ experience managing multiple product managers

  • 3+ years’ experience managing 1 or more UX designers

  • Experience working collaboratively with architects/engineers, data analysts, and UX designers

  • Technical fluency and ability to clearly communicate user and business benefits for various technologies; comfort communicating technology concepts, trade-offs and new opportunities with team members.

  • Proven track record of delivering impactful products to a broad customer base in an agile environment.

  • Proven ability to use a range of discovery tools. Demonstrated ability to identify sources of information that would expand current data infrastructure.

  • Proven ability to leverage data and insights to make informed product decisions including prioritization.

  • Able to self-serve data needs using the current infrastructure and seek additional data resources.

  • Experience working with omnichannel retailer / systems

  • Builds capacity of individuals and teams through effective employee development, involvement, communication, and supervision efforts.

Pay Range

$141,200.00 - $240,000.00 per year
