The Prime Video Playback team is seeking a Principal Product Manager - Tech (Principal PMT) focused on Advertising. The product leader drives our video playback advertising capabilities. The technology solutions under this charter require leadership skills, strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to effectively partner across Amazon, with the ability to manage high-impact solutions.

We are looking for a resourceful, highly technical, customer-focused Product Leader who can work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. She or he will have a proven track record in end-to-end product ownership and successfully delivering results at scale in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define the Playback Advertising strategic vision, own the roadmap, and drive teams to execute best to support our customers, the business, and Prime Video

  • Write and deliver technical requirement documents and artifacts required to enable the development of products, features, and infrastructure

  • Maintain and continuously prioritize backlog based on data, customer, and business needs.

  • Write narratives to advocate and justify product launches and change request

  • Build healthy working relationships with key stakeholders and cross-functional business partners

  • Partner with the Advertising team to define new experiences and launch cross-functionally

  • Contribute to and develop the team's processes and mechanisms.

  • Regularly participate in design reviews and other meetings with engineers and contribute to the discussion to ensure a high-quality bar

  • Define metrics (e.g., KPIs) to track adoption, performance, and any variance against goals

About the team

Playback brings the technologies, tools, and operations to stream Live, Linear, and VOD to all devices globally. We deliver a better experience than broadcast. We innovate to efficiently manage our scale. We acquire the audio/video from partners, encode the video, insert ads, enforce policy, measure the experience, vend playback resources, manage the storage of the content, detect issues in real-time, deliver the video over the Internet, and flawlessly play the video. We bring high-quality streaming for content and ads while using the fewest bits possible.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of end to end product delivery experience

  • 8+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience technical product management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements

  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
