Job Summary

A Senior People Operations HRBP for Restaurant Associates at Google Americas team, you will be a key influencer in people, organization and development of operational efficiencies. We grow our business and our clients through our teams while developing them to higher performance and engagement.

This is a hybrid role based in the Seattle area. The HRBP will provide guidance and serve as a conduit for corporate functions and regional focus areas, as well as oversee the local People function & HR Operations initiatives. Reporting to the Director of People Operations, this role will work closely across all levels of the Operational functions and drive collaboration with department heads and their teams to: ensure organizational health and effectiveness, ensure consistency and identify efficiencies within our Labor model, drive proactive talent discussion, and ensure optimal team member experience.

This role is based in Seattle, WA

The Great Things You Will Do:

HR Administration

  • Provide guidance in order to maintain accurate employee files in compliance with state and federal guidelines

  • Maintain appropriate knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Manage people concerns and partner with the operational teams in conflict resolution, and advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. complete HR investigations as necessary

  • Partner with the legal department as needed. Accountable for all HR administration ensuring compliance with legal guidelines.

  • Provide HR & CBA policy guidance and interpretation.

Talent Management and Development

  • Coach and advise People Leaders on performance management conversations and documentation, and develop to become stronger development focused leaders.

  • Work with business partners across all levels and functions to build capabilities to address performance management matters and ensure appropriate development plans are formed.

  • Employee relations: Recommend appropriate action to maintain a healthy work environment.

  • Contribute to the creation/maintenance of HR Dashboard & metrics.

  • Draw conclusions and recommendations based on trends of HR data points.

  • Proactively meet with the employee population to maintain a pulse on the business and the impacts to our talent, to then make recommendations or raise concerns as appropriate.

  • In collaboration with HRBP & Training team members, assist with design and facilitation of training related to various needs.

Talent Acquisition

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team in the full cycle recruitment process and provide partnership on how the role should be filled and how the team will evolve.

  • Conduct exploratory interviews to help build a candidate sourcing pool for future needs.

  • Champion in building a talent pipeline to ensure a consistent flow of candidates for key positions.

HR Operations and Project Management

  • Lead and support on HR Operations, Compliance, Policies & Procedures, review, analysis and evolution.

  • Support the annual performance reviews, ensuring consistent and fair decisions are made in the promotion, bonus and salary increase processes. Ensure any compensation decisions are performance are market driven, in conjunction with the Compass Compensation Team.

  • Proactively and strategically make recommendations related to processes, programs, etc.

  • Assists in the development and administration of all other projects, programs, procedures and guidelines aimed at aligning the workforce with strategic goals of the department and company

  • Partner with HR team on employee-focused initiatives regarding activities, events, and day-to-day projects

  • Participate, ideate and coordinate employee engagement events and in-house programs

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Bilingual (Spanish)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Hospitality Management/Integration, Statistics, or related degree.

  • 7+ years of Human Resources, Generalist Experience; some exposure to multi-site environment desirable

  • Experience with Unions and Labor teams is highly desirable.

  • People focused. Able to quickly & organically build strong relationships at all levels cross functionally.

  • Emerging coach and thought partner to employees and team leaders.

  • Insatiable curiosity for the business. Obsession to understand business priorities and how we in HR support these priorities through our talent.

  • Strategic thinkers in departmental succession plans to influence advice given to the business.

  • Strong people's sensibility and instincts. Always considering the implications & impacts to employees.

  • Passionate about being progressive in HR philosophies and practices.

  • Understanding of labor & employment laws, compensation & benefits, policies & procedures

  • HR Analytical mindset. You are passionate about reading the story under the numbers as well as proving the HR value-add through strong KPIs

  • Superb verbal and written communication skills

  • Proactive planning, strong follow-through and follow-up
