The Corporate Communications Manager will be responsible for designing and executing communication strategies to support BMS growth and priorities in Brazil. This role requires strong strategic and creative abilities to effectively manage a critical function for the success of our business. The Corporate Communications Manager will report to the Corporate Affairs Lead in Brazil.

Main Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Implementation:

  • Design and execute a robust internal and external communication and digital strategy for BMS in Brazil, aligning with the company's vision of becoming a leading biopharma company that transforms patients' lives through science.

  • Develop an integrated communication and messaging approach for stakeholders that supports BMS business needs.

  • Own the end-to-end digital customer journey from planning to execution, and develops a nuanced view of the digital customer segments and their needs

  • Shape and synthesizes both quantitative and qualitative input from advanced analytics in collaboration with agencies and global teams

  • Leverage digital and social capabilities and rapid personalized content creation processes to enhance customer experience and engagement

  • Utilize engagement and performance feedback to improve digital/ social customer engagement strategies and campaigns

  • Create a tailored outreach and engagement plan on national level.

  • Develop a Corporate Communications strategy that aligns with local and global Corporate Affairs strategies and Brazil's priorities.

  • Proactively identify the capabilities needed to advance the work of the Corporate Affairs function in support of the business in the future.

  • Establish and manage the annual Corporate Communications budget and contracts in a cost-effective manner.

  • Manage suppliers and vendors effectively.

  • Provide proactive advice on key communications issues and coach leaders on effective communication strategies.

  • Brand communications & reputation management

  • Develop and execute the communications and digital strategies including media relations, brand & corporate communications in support of the product portfolio and business objectives

  • Be an active member of the One Brand Team (group formed by Marketing, Medical, Market Access and Advocacy) to discuss brand strategies and tactics

  • Proactively drive initiatives which contribute to building a strong reputation for BMS aligned with global and regional objectives

  • Anticipate and prepare for stakeholder reactions to corporate, brand and regulatory milestones, and deliver appropriate communications strategy to maximize communications opportunities while mitigating risks. Manage the communication aspect of the Crisis Management strategy

  • Design and lead select BMS market shaping campaigns for brands and pipeline innovation in Brazil, in the field of cardiovascular, immunology, oncology, hematology and neuroscience.

  • Be responsible for executing the digital strategy for BMS Brazil, aligned with WW plans and local company strategy to secure a successful implementation in local channels.

  • Support back-office activities (Promomats, among others).

  • Be a Content Central expert advising local teams about content, resources and guidelines.

  • Be responsible for special projects, such as GPTW (in alignment with CA manager), Coast 2 Coast 4 Cancer strategy and implementation of the initiative as a whole, among others

  • Stakeholder engagement:

  • Collaborate closely with the One Brand Team (OBT) to create and implement an integrated external and digital engagement plan targeted towards the media and PAGs

  • Provide guidance on communications targeted at other relevant groups such as trade associations, medical societies, Patient Association Groups (PAGs), and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) who influence public discussions around the environment for optimal therapeutic innovation and market access.

  • Work closely with the Patient Advocacy Manager to align narratives and maximize communication opportunities to reinforce BMS' reputation and strengthen relationships with PAGs.

  • Executive communications and employee engagement :

  • Develop and manage implementation of a strategic executive communications plan to support GM and partner as an advisor with HR in execution of the employee engagement and change initiatives as needed

  • Develop and manage implementation of the internal communications strategic plan

  • Be the go to person in regards of the internal communications

  • Support the development and be responsible for the implementation of the internal comms plan

  • Be the CA liaison for internal events and for the supporting agency

Education, Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in stakeholder engagement, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

  • Strong understanding of media relations and experience in developing and implementing external engagement plans.

  • Knowledge of the healthcare landscape, including trade associations, medical societies, and patient advocacy groups.

  • Strong network of contacts amongst media in Brazil.

  • Good understanding of the political environment in Brazil and ability to interpret how the external changes can impact BMS and its reputation.

  • Strong ability to collaborate across the matrix with access, marketing, regulatory, medical and legal teams across the world

  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, media representatives, and patient advocacy groups.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Proactive and strategic mindset, with the ability to anticipate stakeholder reactions and develop appropriate communication strategies.

  • Fluency in English and Portuguese.
