About the Role
In this role, you will join our dedicated Information Security Team to safeguard our systems and data against cyber threats. As a Cyber Defense Analyst, you will be instrumental in enhancing our cybersecurity posture through vigilant monitoring, analysis, and response to potential security threats.
Responsibilities
Provide summary reports of security events and activity, offering insights into trends, threats, and organizational cybersecurity posture.
Coordinate with internal departments to understand, track, and report on vulnerability statuses across multiple environments, ensuring effective communication and alignment with cybersecurity goals.
Document and escalate incidents in alignment with internal incident response policies and procedures.
Receive and analyze alerts from various sources to determine possible causes and distinguish malicious from benign activities to reduce false positives.
Use security tools for continuous monitoring and analysis of system activity to identify threats and ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures.
Coordinate with internal departments to validate security alerts enhancing the accuracy of threat detection and response processes through cross-departmental collaboration.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience with 1+ years of experience preferred in cyber security.
Interest in information security and desire to enhance current skills and abilities along with an understanding of current knowledge gaps.
Prior experience in cybersecurity, network engineering, system administration, or a related discipline with foundational knowledge conducive to cybersecurity tasks and initiatives.
You should be able to conduct vulnerability and compliance scans and recognize vulnerabilities in security systems given training.
General understanding of types of vulnerabilities and associated attacks, facilitating effective prioritization of remediation efforts.
Ability to understand the information collected by security tools and translate technical data into actionable information..
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate security findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

*Please note this role is categorized as hybrid in Santa Clara, CA . The base salary ranges below are provided for pay transparency. Base pay is only one piece of our total compensation package as this role may be eligible for bonuses and equity awards. Compensation varies depending on a number of factors including qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. Zones are determined by location.
Zone A: Annual Base Salary: $92,000 to $120,000
Zone B: Annual Base Salary: $78,000 to $105,000
