Job Summary:

  • Plans, directs and coordinates manufacturing processes including machining, assembly and testing.

  • Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods, using knowledge of product, material and part design, manufacturing processes, tooling and production.

  • Analyzes and improves quality, cost and delivery using Lean and Six Sigma tools.

  • Provides engineering support in production departments by solving technical problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Researches capital project/equipment proposals, develops justification, prepares cost requests, procures equipment, installs equipment and ensures justification goals are achieved.

  • Collaborates with manufacturing supervisors to achieve Flowserve goals and objectives.

  • Specifies and procures factory supplies that reduce costs and improve efficiency.

  • Ensures availability of CNC programs to support new products and customer requirements.

  • Assists in the training, instruction and maintenance of a flexible CNC programming and tooling knowledge base.

  • Ensures availability of tooling and fixtures to meet customer demand.

  • Troubleshoots process and equipment problems to minimize delays in production schedules.

  • Assists in developing profit plan and strategic manufacturing plan. Tracks assigned capital projects and status of expenditures to ensure on-time and on-budget completion.

  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the field of machine tool equipment, tooling and methods. Recommends innovative solutions where applications are feasible to improve performance and quality.

  • Understands and supports all company objectives and performs duties delegated by management.

  • Enforces safety standards by ensuring tooling, tools and process comply with all applicable OSHA regulations.

  • Enforces Flowserve's environmental policies by ensuring that processes comply with all applicable environmental regulations. Subcontractors are informed of Flowserve's applicable environmental policies and are managed in accordance with those policies.- Demonstrates the ability and willingness to work as a team player.- Treats all customers and co-workers with respect.- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements / Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience leading and driving cost reductions in a manufacturing environment using Continuous Improvement Methodologies.- Experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety standards, engineering drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.- Ability to write routine and technical correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.- Ability to understand and apply principles of advanced geometry, trigonometry, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

  • Experience in interpreting various technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form and in handling a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
